Alfredo sauce is one of the most basic pasta sauces, yet Fettucine Alfredo is one of the most popular comfort foods we know. You just can't beat it, suits all tastes!
FETTUCCINE ALFREDO INGREDIENTS
- 400g dry (or 500g fresh) fettuccine pasta
- 100g butter
- 200g freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 300 ml thick cream
- 1 fresh clove of garlic, crushed
- 3 tablespoons fresh parsley finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
- Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil then add and cook the fettuccine until "al dente" (about 9 or 10 minutes), drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan over med-low heat melt butter then add crushed garlic, cook for 2 minutes to allow the garlic flavour to infuse with the butter then add cream, pepper and salt.
- Heat mixture till gentle bubbles start to form then remove from heat and immediately add the Parmesan cheese and stir till thoroughly melted and combined.
- Add enough pasta to sauce that the dish is still creamy and not dry.
- Just before serving stir through fresh parsley.
