Tempura is a well known and popular Japanese dish, mainly a light batter that can be used for fish, seafood or vegetables it is also surprisingly easy and makes the perfect finger food for parties.

EASY TEMPURA BATTER INGREDIENTS
  • 1 egg
  • 250ml cup icy-cold water
  • 3/4 metric cup (115g) sifted plain flour
  • pinch bicarbsoda

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Beat egg and water until well mixed.
  2. Add flour and bicarb soda and whisk vigorously till well mixed (mix should be very thin, water down with a tiny bit more water if needed)
  3. Dip, lightly coat then fry seafood or thinly sliced vegetable slices for about 3 minutes or until light golden brown.
