Tempura is a well known and popular Japanese dish, mainly a light batter that can be used for fish, seafood or vegetables it is also surprisingly easy and makes the perfect finger food for parties.
EASY TEMPURA BATTER INGREDIENTS
- 1 egg
- 250ml cup icy-cold water
- 3/4 metric cup (115g) sifted plain flour
- pinch bicarbsoda
INSTRUCTIONS
- Beat egg and water until well mixed.
- Add flour and bicarb soda and whisk vigorously till well mixed (mix should be very thin, water down with a tiny bit more water if needed)
- Dip, lightly coat then fry seafood or thinly sliced vegetable slices for about 3 minutes or until light golden brown.
